Campus Facilities

Capital Planning works closely with the campus community to identify each units’ major goals, develop and define potential solutions for their project. While concentrating on the assessment of existing conditions, analysis of space and/or utility needs, site evaluation, development of conceptual design scenarios, and reconciliation of needs and resources in accordance with the strategies of the Campus Master Plan.

Campus Operations includes both Facilities Management and Housekeeping the responsible units for the maintenance and upkeep of our campus, which comprises 1.1 million square feet of space across 13 buildings and 11 acres.

COVID-19 Vaccine Requirements

On April 23, 2021, University System of Maryland (USM) Chancellor Jay A. Perman announced a COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all USM campuses, including The University of Baltimore.

On April 28, President Kurt L. Schmoke announced to the campus community that if you plan to be on campus in the fall, the deadline for receiving your full vaccination against COVID-19 (all shots, plus the CDC-recommended waiting period of two weeks after your final dose) is Aug. 1, 2021. This allows sufficient time prior to School of Law orientation (Aug. 16-20) and the start of law classes (Aug. 23), as well as UBalt orientation (Aug. 24-26) and the start of undergraduate and graduate classes (Aug. 30). With a mix of in-person and online classes scheduled across the University, this timeline allows us to adequately prepare for the start of the semester.
