How to Map a Network Drive in Windows
Mapping a network drive allows you to access shared folders on a server as if they were a drive on your computer.
Before You Begin
- You must be connected to the university network or VPN (Global Protect) if working remotely.
- You must have permission to access the shared folder.
Windows 11 Instructions
- Open File Explorer.
- Select This PC from the left navigation pane.
- Click the three dots (...) on the toolbar and choose Map network drive.

- Select an available drive letter.
- In the Folder box, enter the network path.
Example:
\\CISSV0\Department
- If you want the drive to reconnect after restarting your computer, check Reconnect at sign-in.
- If prompted to use different credentials, check Connect using different credentials.
- Click Finish.

- If prompted, enter your university username and password.
